The first table shows the teams with the four best records halfway through the season. The second table shows the full season records for the same four teams. Which team had the best record during the second half of the season? Record for the First Half of the Season Team Wins Losses Team 1 26 14 Team 2 27 13 Team 3 25 15 Team 4 24 16 Record for the Season Team Wins Losses Team 1 59 21 Team 2 27 13 Team 3 25 15 Team 4 24 16

You just need to find the difference between each of the teams' wins/losses in the first half and in the full season. That will get you the second half's records.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then would i subtract 26-14? and do that for all of them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You wouldn't subtract the losses from the wins, you would subtract the first half's wins from the full season's wins, and do the same for the losses. That will be the second half's records.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so 26-59 and so on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doesn't the question ask who had the best record in the 2nd half of the season? so wouldn't you only need to compare the 2nd season records and totally ignoring the 1st half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well yeah, you have a point. but am i on the right track with what i was talking about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are no 2nd half records, only the 1st half and the total. That's what we're finding right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay then all you have to do is take the difference from the total season and first half and you will find the team which had the best record in the 2nd half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is what I already said...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And yes Coe you were doing fine. Just do that for all the wins and losses.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i'm sorry i read the question too fast.....all you need to do is find out how team 1 did in the 2nd half and compare it to the rest of the other teams

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay then after i got 33 and 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yupp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but my answer choices are not that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 1 2 3 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok it would be better to post up the answer choices..... also its asking for the team with the best record not the record itself, so it would be team 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, okay i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both of you :)
