In a circuit of you add a resistor in parallel what happens to the overall current? What if they were in series?

on the first part of the question: let's say we have water flowing from a high place to a low place through a pipe. Do we get more flow or less flow when we add another pipe that runs in parallel with the first pipe?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

V=IR If the voltage is constant (eg a battery) and resistance goes up, then current must go down. If resistance goes down, current must go up. What happens to the total resistance when you add resistors in series? What about when you add resistors in parallel?
