've been on this one for 30 minutes, help? Solve 8t + 16 > 16t - (12t - 20). A. {t| t > 1} B. {t| t > -1} C. {t| t < 4} D. {t| t > 4}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16t -(12t -20) = 4t +20 So you can rewrite 8t +16 > 16t -(12t -20) as 8t +16 > 4t +20 Divide both sides by four and you get: 2t +4 > t +5 So the answer is t > 1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

8t +16 > 16t -(12t -20) may too many multiples of 4 in there 2t +4 > 4t -(3t -5) much better

Thank you both
