Does anyone have any special "techniques" for factoring polynomials, binomials, monomials, etc?

yeah, basically just add or subtract like powers and add, subtract, multiply or divide like terms and put the equation back together correctly.

Foil?

Foil is good. I use that all the time. I kind of come into trouble when it comes to the solution not having an answer, but an unfinished equation sometimes.
