Dang that sucks! Sorry girl. Um well like a simile basically compares two unlike things using the word(s) like or as. So look for those words and make sure they are comparing two things. If so you have a simile. :) metaphor is the same but does NOT use the words like or as. Then personification is giving an object a human like quality that it can not actually have. An example of personification is the flower waved to the morning sun. Hope that helped a little!
