Which statement explains why labor unions supported immigration restrictions during the 1920s? The flood of unskilled foreign workers during the early 1900s threatened wages and jobs for American workers. The political views of the new immigrants tended to make them resistant to attempts to unionize the American workforce. Union leaders wanted to keep consumer demand low to make American businesses vulnerable to strikes and boycotts.
