The easy part is 'faster'. Which has more energy, a screaming Indy racer at 250MPH, or that same car parked in the garage? As for 'further apart' - consider couples dancing. Imagine a seniors dance at the Moose lodge- people making little shuffling movements. Not much energy there. Now imagine a scene from a disco era movie, with pro dancers or a - they're crashing around into each other and bouncing off each other. the only issue is pressure - the dancers in a mosh pit are near each other because it's crowded - they'd spread out if you suddenly removed everyone around them. But for the samep pressure, further apart.
