What about it? Physical memory is hardware. The DRAM chips mounted on little pcb's that are always a strain to put in. Logical memory is memory as seen by the CPU. Might be physical memory, but it could also be out on the hard drive. The OS will 'swap' programs that haven't done anything for a while to the hard drive - writing their memory into a file, and freeing up the physical memory. When the program needs to do somethign, it gets swapped back into physical memroy
