PLEASE HELP!! WILL GIVE MEDAL!! :) Find a polynomial function f(n) such that f(1), f(2), ... , f(8) is the following sequence. see screenshot!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mertsj):

(1,2) (2,7) (3,12) (4,17)...(8,37) Look like it might be a linear function with slope 5

OpenStudy (mertsj):

ok. Show how to do it.

@dan815 Please help!

@Luis_Rivera please help!

@Mertsj

@Loser66

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this function is linear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(x)=mx+b\] find \(m\) and \(b\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

identical to "find the equation of the line that includes the points \((1,2)\) and \((2,7)\)"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so f(n)=(1,2) (2,7)? What would the polynomial function be?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

slope = 5 2=5(1)+b b=-3 f(x)=5x-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much!! i understand now :)
