Please help!!! Does the following set of ordered pairs satisfy a linear function? {(1, 8), (2, 6), (3, 4), (4, 2), (5, 0)} A:No, there is no constant change of x corresponding to y. B:Yes, there is a constant change of +1for x which corresponds to a constant change of -2 in y. C:Yes, the x values are larger than the y values. D:No, there is no correlation between x and y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, because every input only has 1 output

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simply put, if a graph passes the horizontal line test, then it is a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it b or c? haaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B, because for C, just because the x values are larger does not mean it is a function. it can have a negative slope where the x is lower than y and it is still considered a lin function
