3. The goals of Stalin's 5-yr plan wanted Russia to advance industrially and catch up with the rest of the world. It was very radical, the poor Soviets were not used to and unprepared for Stalin's plan. Stalin took assets, including farms and factories, and reorganized the economy. However, these efforts often led to less efficient production, and led to starvation for the people.
