A set of data has the following linear regression equation: y = 1 + 3x What does the equation predict for a value of x = 15?

OpenStudy (jack1):

sub in x=15 to the given equation so y = 46... is that what you were asking?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the question... im totally confused!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hlee0919 you get this one??

OpenStudy (jack1):

you lost me, you've got a linear equation there (y = mx + c) so from there you can use the equation to work out any corresponding y value from a given x value... other that that, i'm out, sorry...

@Jack1 its okay!! thanks for trying to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uts just 46. it 's predicting that when you input 15, you output 46. 46= 1+3(15)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i figured that after @Jack1 explained it!! thanks =) @hlee0919
