What is the focus of the following graph? (image below) The only thing I can figure out from the graph is this: Vertex: (1, 4) and I know the focus is at (h, k + p), so (1, 4 + p) but how do I find p? What am I missing? Help please.

oh wait. Directrix is 3 so 3 = 4 - p and then p = 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since you the directrix is y=3, and there is a distance of 1 between them. you move one unit above the vertex and should be the point (1,5)
