really it doesn't matter whether it is DM or MD, because you do either multiplication OR division depending upon which comes first. example: 24 ÷ 2 x 3 does NOT equal 24 ÷ 6, but DOES equal 12 x 3, because you must go left to right. the same rule for add OR subtract -- left to right. We use (I teach math) PP MD AS LR (remembered easily by "PrettyPleaseMyDearAuntSallyLeavetheRoom… Parenthesis first then Powers then multiply OR divide (left to right) then add or subtract (left to right NOW, as far as fractions go, you still follow the same rules. Keep in mind that a fraction is simply a division problem: 1/2 means 1 ÷ 2.
