really it doesn't matter whether it is DM or MD, because you do either multiplication OR division depending upon which comes first.

example: 24 ÷ 2 x 3 does NOT equal 24 ÷ 6, but DOES equal 12 x 3, because you must go left to right.

the same rule for add OR subtract -- left to right.

NOW, as far as fractions go, you still follow the same rules. Keep in mind that a fraction is simply a division problem: 1/2 means 1 ÷ 2.
