np. To get a perpendicular slope, you take the negative reciprocal of the original slope. That would be "m" in your equation of the line: y = mx + b. The "passing through the point" becomes superfluous here.
A negative reciprocal for "k" is "-1/k" -> (k)(-1/k) = -1 This is all you need to get the solution.
