B. The growth of cash crops like tobacco needed lots and lots of land because tobacco dries up the soil after harvest so they pushed westward

That would be true for Americans 
When the English were still in charge slavery had not taken off yet (had to wait for cotton for that)
Instead there were conflicts between the English and the Indians over any number of things: land, cultural conflicts, nothing at all
English were used to fighting all out war not just raiding and symbolic stuff, they fought to kill
