Maintaining homeostasis in the body is vital for all body functioning, metabolism, neuronal functioning, organ function, etc. Cells make up tissues, and tissues make organs, organs make up the organ systems, and organ systems make the organism. Since individual cells are what makes the organism, maintaining homeostasis in the cells is vital to and organisms functioning as a whole.
This is just to give you an idea. Not to copy :P.
