What is the vertex of the graph of y = 2x2 − 3x − 1?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

ok so you might not know this method. but comes in very handy.. partially differentiate the equation, once taking x as a constant, and taking y as a constant.. solve the two equations and you have the centre..

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

oh that sounds confusing.. first find the partial derivative d/dy =0 and the d/dx=0.. and solve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry i still dont understand that

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

you know how to do partial diff?
