What is meant by enzyme to enzyme chain?? is it amino acid? :/
I've never heard that term, could it be possible that they're talking about disulfide bonds between amino acids of the same enzyme? although, some enzymes are made of RNA, so that kinda throws my point out the window..
Enzymes are made from proteins, and proteins are made from amino acids. So enzymes do contain amino acid. However, amino acids are the blocks that make protein but amino acids don't contain enzymes. So I think it would be amino acid, but i'm not positive :/
Savannah_Noelle, amino acids chains are proteins that are sometimes (based on their function) enzymes.
@ aaronq How can amino acid be an enzyme if their what makes up enzymes?? That makes no sense. They make up enzmyes.
all enzymes are proteins ,but not all proteins are enzymes
Savannah, you mustve not read what i wrote correctly, i said amino acid CHAINS a.a. + a.a + a.a + ...+ a.a = protein an individual amino acid is not a protein, proteins are sometimes enzymes. although, @abbot, things like ribozymes aren't proteins.. though still enzymes, and that complicates the picture.
The person that has to answer this question is going to be so confused..lol.
enzymes are proteins but not all proteins are enzymes is like saying crows are black things, but not all black things are crows.
