Which point lies in the solution set for the following system of inequalities? y > x + 4 y > -2x + 2 Choices: (-4, 0) (-3, 2) (2, -1) (0, 6)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Plug in each point into both the inequalities and if the statement is true then those points satisfy the inequality.

ok

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I'll do the first one for you. (-4, 0) y > x + 4 y > -2x + 2 0 > -4 + 4 0 > 0. This is false. Zero is not greater than zero 0 > -2(-4) + 2 0 > -8 + 2 0 > -6 This is true. However, (-4, 0) Does NOT satisfy both inequalities; only one.

ok thanks.
