In my test, the teacher asked the question of the product of (6x + 2)^2. My answer was 36x^2 + 4. She said that it was wrong. Why is it wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is wrong because it is not squaring everything in the parenthesis, it means to factor the equation. (6x+2)^2 (6x+2)(6x+2) 36x^2+12x+12x+4 36x^2+24x+4

Ooh..

Yup Do you get it now?

Yes
