Which is a good guideline to follow when choosing a background for your slides?

Which implies a list... I see no list to discuss.

In general, well, do you want a background that overpowers the presentation or enhances it? Do you want loud colors and distracting images or do you want something professional?

In my opinion, the background has to be as subtle as possible. In no case should the viewer notice the background first since it will push the importance of the content. All of this happens subconsciously ..and so I think its even more important to give the background selection a lot of thought

I usually just make my presentation background very dark in relation to my content so it stands out.....
