The "futuro cercano" is formed by "ir a" + infinitive of the verb
The verb ir has to be conjugated (usually in the present tense) to match the subject.

For example "I am going to eat" is "Yo voy a comer." There you see the verb ir in the first person "Yo voy" + "a" + the infinitive of eat which is comer.
Another example: "She is going to eat" is "Ella va a comer." Notice that va matches ella, and comer is the infinitive.
