how do you solve y=sin(2x+pi/4) to find the tangent and normal when x=0

i have another question, the velocity of an engine's pistol t seconds after the engine is started is approximated by v=0.8sin2t a) find the minimum velocity and the time it first occurs b) max velocity and the time it first occurs

don't worry, i solved the second one, but i'm still unsure about the first?

OpenStudy (waynex):

Calculate the derivative of that function. Then you need to probe the original function to find a point, any point will do. I.e., put in a value for either y or x and solve for the remaining variable. You now have a point. Plug the x value of the point into the derivative equation to get a slope. Now plug the point and the slope into the point slope formula. You know have the equation of one particular tangent line. The negative reciprocal of the slope is the slope of the normal line. Plug your original point and the new slope into the point slope formula.
