do you recall what we do when we have say: f(x) = 1 + x ; and x = 3 ?
correct; this is the same thing, but using a function instead of a value ....
\[g(x) = x + \sqrt{x} - t\] \[g(f(x)) = f(x) + \sqrt{f(x)} - t\]
plug in the rule that defines f(x) and simplify as desired

that just defines the domain; it doesnt change the setup itself; only the values for x that can be used.
for example:\[\frac{x+1}{x+2}\]is only valid for \(x\ne-2\)

i worked it out notice that at the top of my reply i wasnt sure; then i worked it out and got the same answer as you posted this either means that our results are correct, or that maybe we make the same mistake ...
well i just used the calculator but i didnt know where to put x (greater than) sign 5 at
just put in x=5; you should get a value from the range
