the drawing supposrts that.  There are infinite lines between the bases that are parallel to the bases.  Of infinite possibilities, only one is the median.

These types of questions are all about terminology.  If you get more familiar with the terminology, it is easier to just know the answer.  It also makes other problems easier because when they refer back to something like this, you know what they mean.  And geometry terms show up in calculus, linear algebra, and so on.  Even geology uses them.
