4. A metallic ring of 50 turns and area 4 cm2 is placed inside a current-carrying solenoid of length l = 2 m, n = 200 turns/m and area of 6 cm2 so that the axis of the ring and axis of the solenoid are parallel as shown in the figure, (i.e. the B field due to solenoid is perpendicular to the cross sectional planes of both ring and solenoid). At t = 0 s, the magnitude of the B field is 0.03 T and at this point in time the current i in the solenoid is switched off so that the B field and current i both drop to zero at t = 0.12 s

a) Calculate the inductance L of the solenoid. State your value in the appropriate unit. b) What is the average emf induced in the 50 turn metallic ring due to the change in the magnetic field B? c) What is the self-induced emf in the 200 turn solenoid due to the change in the current i?
