A rhombus has diagonals of 16 centimeters and 20 cenitmeters. In square centimeters, what is the area of the rhombus?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what's a rhombus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so do you know the Formula for area of a rhombus :) @YessiLaMuneka

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no @Isabella_Kapadia

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A parallelogram with opposite equal acute and obtuse angles and four equal sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so look that up really fast and tell me :) !?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jdoe0001 A rhombus is actually just a special type of parallelogram. lol

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it basexheight

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

are all sides of a rhombus equals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

gimme one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes or you can use A =1/2(d1)(d2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 1st diagonal is 16 centimeters and the second one is 20 cenitmeters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d1 is diagonal 1 and d2 is diagonal 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you have A =1/2 (16) (20)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 160

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

see the rhombus values? is really 2 triangles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok great that is your answer the area of the rhombus is 160 square centimeters. is that an option for you ?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not multiple choice lol but thank you(:

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so, just for the area of the triangle, either really, and then add it twice, that's your area I'm sure you know what the area of a triangle is :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks guys(:

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

just find I meant :)
