how did china becoming communist affect the us?

because the us thought the entire easten asia will become communists. Errmm you could read up on the domino theory or sth where china became communist and then north korea and vietnam and us thought the entire east asia will be communist so yeap :3

We first supported the Democratic side during the Chinese Civil War when Mao Zedong tried to take over China. Mao Zedong eventually won, and took over China and made it a communist government. In the US, Republicans were alarmed by the loss of China to the communists and blamed the Democrats for the disaster. Stalin and Mao signed a Sino-Soviet pact, which seemed to provide further proof of a worldwide Communist conspiracy.
