Solve each equation by graphing

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

y=-x+4 y=3x+12

OpenStudy (aravindg):

First sketch the 2 lines The point where they intersect will be the solution to the given system of inequalities.

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

Not sure D: could you help meh?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Do you have problem sketching the lines?

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

No i have a problem doing it i hate all the Graphing and plotting the numbers i get them wrong every time and if I fail this i fail the year this question if you help me will help me better understand how to do it

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Plotting the two lines is a simple task

OpenStudy (notamathgenius):

|dw:1369320537674:dw|

OpenStudy (aravindg):

First lets plot line y=-x+4 Put Step 1: Put x=0 y=0+4 y=4 Hence we get y intercept as (0,4) Step 2: Put y=0 0=-x+4 x=4 Hence we get x intercept as (4,0) Having got x intercept and y intercept just join them using a scale |dw:1369320674189:dw| This gives you the line Similarly draw the second line The point where both lines intersect will be your solution.
