the resistances in an electric circuit varies inversely with the current. If the resistance is 12 ohms when the current is 5 amps, what is the resistance when the current is 8 amps?

If two quantities (R and I, in this case) vary inversely, then the following equation is true: \[R = \frac{k}{I}\] Use your first pair of values to find k, then find the second value of R.
