can anyone help me with this question? I dont really Understand how i would write the expression When i dont know exactly how many bracelets she is selling?! please help!! http://www.clipular.com/c?6599035=Zv5F0KXhDPgQ8nHWaM1E5_8NQKM&f=.png I thought of this equation " 6 / b = nb "n standing for Number and b standing for bracelets"
why would you divide? if you make bracelets (b) and sold it $6 each. you will have to multiply the number of bracelets you make to the worth you are selling it for. let us try if this makes sense in the real world. if Kayla made 9 bracelets and sold them for $6 a piece. How much money is she expected to make? 6 * 9 = 54 if it were 10 bracelets 6 * 10 = 60 now since we do not know how many bracelets, we would assign it as b instead of an exact amount. the "b" is going to be our "variable" or simply a placeholder in layman's terms. 6 * b = 6b
oh xD i feel reaaallly dumb now Thanks Nin ^~^
to recap this. you can replace b with any number value and you will still have to multiply it by 6 correct? now think of your b as 5 6b = 6 * 5 = 30
since we are talking about money, do not forget the dollar sign for whatever product you will get. |dw:1369347787010:dw|
