Peristalsis. Can someone describe the process??

Yeah, we're looking at a picture of "peristalsis" in the esophagus. Peristalsis is where the esophagus moves the food to our stomach, by squeezing the food through the entire tube. It's kind of like how we squeeze toothpaste out of a toothpaste tube.
