how would you start? I can give you a hint, common denominator in the first term is (x-4)(x+4) and the denominator in second term can be rewritten as 2(x-4)(x+4)

I have no idea how to start or what to do after, ive been stuck on this question for 20 minutes.

OpenStudy (jkristia):

in the first time try get a common denominator. You can do that by multiplying x by (x+4) and 6 by (x-4), then the denominator becomes (x-4)(x+4)

Ok so what next?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

so what do you have at this point ?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

and how do you divide by a fraction ?
