Please help solve this problem, with explanation. A rope is square root 250 units long. The rope is cut into two pieces, so that the lengths of the pieces are in the ratio 3:2. What is the length of the longer piece expressed in simplest radical form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Notice how 3:2 is the same as saying 3x : 2x. This also means that the length of the longer piece is 3/5 of the entire rope. So length of longer piece = 3/5 * sqrt(250) = 9.487

So I simplify that now?
