AB is tangent to O. If AO = 12 and BC = 25, what is AB? The diagram is not to scale.

@RadEn

OpenStudy (raden):

AB^2 = BO^2 - AO^2 AB^2 = (BC+CO)^2 - AO^2 AB^2 = (25+12)^2 - (12)^2 AB^2 = (37)^2 - (12)^2 AB^2 = (37+12)(37-12) AB^2 = (49)(25) AB = sqrt(49 * 25) = sqrt(49) * sqrt(25) = 7 * 5 = 35

but i dont see that as a choice

OpenStudy (raden):

maybe, just in sqrt form right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait i just got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have a couple more could you help me with them?

OpenStudy (raden):

sorry, i have to go now. next time i will be back to joining again :)
