solve the rational equation. check your answer. 1/2 + 3/t = 5/8

\[\frac{1}{2} + \frac{3}{t} = \frac{5}{8}\]
Subtract 1/2 from both sides to get: \[\frac{3}{t} = \frac{5}{8} - \frac{1}{2}\]
The equivalent of 1/2 is 4/8 so: \[\frac{3}{t} = \frac{5}{8} - \frac{4}{8}\]
I know my answer should be 24, but I don't know how to show my work.
left side reduces to \[\frac{3}{t} = \frac{1}{8}\]

so I just cross multiply the 3 and the 8?
