i know how to do this problem --> (x+2)(2X²-3x+5) but i just need to know when i multiply x*2x² is it 3x² or 2x³

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well when you are multiplying 1x by 2x² ...... you add the exponents and multiply the coefficients so it would be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x³ ?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

no....you have 1x^1 times 2x^2 You multiply the coefficients (2 in 2x) and (1 in 1x)... so 2 and you add the exponents ^1 + ^2 = ^3 so you have 2x^3

Ohh ok well i knew it was one of the 2 thank you
