A circle in inscribed in an equilateral triangle. A point in the figure is selected at random. Find the probability that the point will be in the shaded region? http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/43400/43437/3c2_43437_lg.gif NOTE: The shaded region is the circle. A) 50% B)30% C)75% D)60%

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

I can't see any shaded region.

I said the shaded region is the circle. The circle is shaded completely. Its not shaded in the pic...it is to give an idea of the image.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is now shaded the exact way lol

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

It will either be C or D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, the probability that the point will be in the circle is the same as the ratio between the area of te circle and the area of the triangle. And that wont match with any of the choices because pi will get involved.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But is very close to 60%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much. I had my eye on that answer lol just wasn't sure.
