Where are you stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i know that is has to deal with properties with 45-45-90 triangles or trig. I dont know how to find the sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 216? I took the finding a leg of 45-45-90 triangle propertie.....which is 9sqrt2 / sqrt2 = 9 - bottom leg. long leg is short leg * 2=18. 18+6=24 9+9=18 plug in to area of kite and i got 216?

/ means divide lol sorry for my spelling...very tired tonight wahhh

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the short diagonal is the diagonal being bisected, so that's 2*9 = 18 meters the longer diagonal is having one leg of the 45-45-90 triangle (which is 9) added to 6 meters giving you 9+6 = 15 meters So the longer diagonal is 15 meters

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The area is therefore A = (d1*d2)/2 A = (18*15)/2 A = 9*15 A = 135 square meters

ok thank you. That was tough!
