How do I work this out? (uploading a screencap) @Mertsj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Multiply each term within the parentheses by 2x^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I add the exponents or multiply them as well.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

You add exponents when multiplying

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Add the exponents. Multiply the coefficients.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh.. \[6x^4 ?\]

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

remember to add the exponents....3x is the same as 3x^1 correct?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Look at your drawing...you multipled the first one correctly but forgot to multiply the other two.

OpenStudy (mertsj):
