OpenStudy (destinymasha):

The speeds of seven cars traveling on the highway are listed below. 56, 71, 66, 52, 73, 53, 61 What is the interquartile range of the speeds? What is the interquartile range of the speeds? 5 21 18 62

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

arrange them in ascending order 52, 53, 56, 61, 66, 71, 73

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

ok, step 2 ?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

median = middle value = 61 first quartile is 1/4 from lowest then 3/4 from lowest interquartile range is diifference of these 2 values

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i should have said lower quartile and upper quartile

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

wait, so do i find the median of both sides?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

the stuff you wrote after you wrote the median, i got confused.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

it logged me out, u took too long, but can you still help?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yeah - sorry - I confused myself! if you have a lot of data you draw a curve and find the I q range from that. with this small amount of data I'm not sure how to do it. Sorry .

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

oh, it's ok

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

if you take the median of the first 3 numbers and the last 3 that is 53 and 71 then range is 71 = 53 - 18 that MIGHT be it.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

maybe
