Geometry: Geometric Probability A point in the figure is selected at random. Find the probability that the point will be in the shaded region? a) 80% b)70% c)90% d)60%
I seriously am stuck. Am I supposed to guess? I think maybe 90%? divide 360 into 4? = 90%?
use this : (area of circle / area the square) * 100%
there is nothing given though?
nope, let the radius of that circle is 7 then the side of the square be 14, agree ?
so it would = 80% rounded? and could you explain how you got those numbers? lol thats what I don't understand.
that just assumed, u can also take the radius is 1 unit then the sides of the square is 2 units, which one do u like :)
ok so what you are saying is you can take any number for radius and *by 2 for a side of the square for thew equation for the answer?
nah, we have to comparing the area of both (area of circle / area the square) * 100% pi r^2 / (side)^2 * 100%
ok gotcha. so I got the correct answer right?
my calculation says it is 78.5 %
thank you so much
welcome, so what should as ur choice's answer ?
a) 80%
