just subtract the smaller digit frm the grater irrespective of signs and give the answer the sign of the grater digit.. so the answer is -2

that is what I thought but someone is trying to tellme that it is -12 but when adding differnet signs you subtract and keep the higher numbered sign right?

Think about it. You start with 0. You moved 7 space to the left. So you have -7. Now + mean move to the right. So your moving 5 time to the right. You will land on -2.|dw:1369498248886:dw|
