Determine the value of y for the system of equations. x − 3y = 4 2x + y = 8 0 −4 4 3

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

How do i do this ? i forgot xD @jim_thompson5910

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 0

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

why ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the solution you have to have similar coefficients for either x or y so if i muiltiply the first equation with 2 the coeff for x become equal now subtraction the equations we get -7y=0 therefore y=0

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

ok thanks :)
