The width and area of a rectangle are shown in the figure. What is the length of the rectangle. W= (2b-1)in A=(4b^3 +5b - 3)in^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(4b^3 + 5b - 3)/(2b - 1) = L because (A)rea / (W)idth = (L)ength (4b^3 + 5b - 3)/(2b - 1) = 2b^2 + b + 3 Do you need to see the long division?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah because im still a little confused with it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np, my connect speed is slow, but I'll move along.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

That first line subtracted got a little overlaid. It should look like: 4b^3 - 2b^2 Look closely and you'll see the "^" mixed in with the b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so to check my answer i multilply 2b-1 with 2b^2 +b +3 Got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You got it! Good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)) sorta gettin easy as pie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It will take a little practice and a little of the "I can do it" spirit!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha true. thanks :)

Just think of Math as a friend that sometimes speaks a foreign language!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha no problem :)
