Yea, Im not so familiar with the concept or what its for, but Google sure supports it.

Google likes it because DSP is a process used in a wide range of electronics. A DSP is used in every synthesizer and modem made these days. On top of that, it is a class at every major technical college. That is because the term applies to far more than just audio data, even though audio was one of the original adopters of the term. So it shows up in tons of things, none of which have to do with DSP as a job or skill set.
