action and reaction are equal and opposite . Then how does a body move ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Action and reaction act on different bodies.

Now try figuring out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would depend on the bodies if you are on a skateboard and you push agains the wall you exert a force on the wall so it would exert a force on you. the force is enough to make you move but not enough to make the wall move or be destroyed.

Well, you push a block. You call that action. This action is responsible for the movement of the block (as it is an external force). But the block pushes YOU back too (reaction). NB: This force pushes YOU back. So, it is responsible for YOUR movement. This force is produced by the block, but does not work on the block. <<Thus, while the action works on the block, the reaction works on you. Got it mate? :)

yup.! thank u so much.
