No. of Old Movies = o
No. of New Movies = n

now o + n = 7 ------> Eqn. (1)
new movies cost $8 so total cost of new movies will be 8n
old movies cost $3. So total cost of old movies will be 3o

Now both cost put together the total cost we know is $41 ( The amount he spent on the movies)

so 8n + 3o = 41 ------> Eqn. (2)
