Find the height of the figure below if the surface area is 651.13 mm2. I got 62.203 is that correct?

OpenStudy (espex):

Without the figure it will be difficult to say if that is correct.

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

no

OpenStudy (espex):

You have a formula for Surface Area of a Cylinder = 2 pi r^2 + 2 pi r h, you are given 2r, did you then solve for h?

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

S.A. of Cylinder is given by = 2π r ( h + r ) 651.13 = 2 π * 4.3 ( h + 4.3) 651.13 / (2 * 3.14 *4.3) = (h + 4.3) 24.11 = h + 4.3 h = 24.11 - 4.3 = 19.81

i had the same formula but went wrong somewhere.. thank you

OpenStudy (espex):

@rajee_sam You need to help others solve the questions, not simply provide the answers.

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

he already solved the problem and got the wrong answer so I did it so he could see where he went wrong. I don't just give out answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the (2 * 3.14 *4.3) part wrong.. i got the wrong numbers
